Learning through play: Macca and Charlie are playing in the cubby house at Kids Club Mount Gambier.
Who can use Kids Club?
Children aged four to 17.
How does it work?
Kids Club is a day of interactive play, fun and friendship for children with disabilities aged from 4 to their teens.
Kids Club is a six-hour program which is held in Woodville, Mount Barker, Reynella and in Mount Gambier. It's held regularly on Saturdays and during school holidays - click here to download a metropolitan Kids Club calendar!
Cara is looking to expand in new areas where there is demand so if you’d like a Kids Club near you, please let us know!
Learning through play
Activities at Kids Club are driven by the children themselves – they might try arts and craft, sensory play, cooking, reading or creating music while having fun and socialising with their peers. Activities are tailored to each child’s developmental need. Excursions in the community are another fun thing to do.
Fully-trained Community Support Workers are there to provide personal care, medication management and high-level health care support. Volunteers enjoy working with the children and provide extra individual support.
Using your NDIS funding
The NDIS funds children and teens to attend Kids Club under the items of:
- Group-based community, social and recreational activities
- Assistance to access community, social and recreational activities
- Assistance with self-care activities
- Group-based activities in a centre
