Cara offers children with a disability various opportunities for fun, relaxation, socialising, educational stimulation and rest over varying lengths of time.
Cara’s Camps for Kids offer children with a disability the opportunity to join in on recreational activities, socialise with their peers and challenge their abilities in a fun, safe and supportive camp environment. Our camps are hosted at locations across the state including in the Adelaide Hills, at Berri, Clare, Gladstone, Port Lincoln, Port Willunga, Victor Harbor and Adelaide shores.
Cara’s five Children's Centre-Based Respite Services, located in Adelaide and in country regions, provide a home away from home for children with a disability. Children can enjoy this supportive and caring environment for a few days, sometimes on a weekly basis, or perhaps a few times a year. No matter how often children visit, this is a vital opportunity for parents to relax and enjoy the break that this temporary respite brings.
Hosted at the Lady Gowrie Childcare Centre in Adelaide on a Saturday each month, Kids Club offers children with a disability and their siblings a much-needed stimulating, fun and educational daytime respite service - offering a short break respite option for parents and children alike.
The Cara Families for Families program matches children with trained volunteer families who offer regular respite care in their own homes. This gives parents much-needed respite and the child the familiarity and comfort of living in a family environment.
