Crumpets for Cara - Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who held a Crumpets for Cara event throughout the month of May. A big thank you must especially go to students, staff members and supporters who took part in the Crumpets for Cara event, which raised much needed funds for childrens and adults living with a disability. The month long event kicked off with Cara ambassador and former MasterChef contestant, John Hughes, attempting a World Record attempt for the biggest crumpet stack at The Good Guys in Mile End.
Space Encounters at Cara!
Space Encounters, a 50 minute, interactive children’s opera for five to twelve year olds, is being held throught June at Cara’s head office! You can see the show and support Cara’s cause by making a donation – no matter how big or small – at the collection tins at the performance venue.
Being held at 
the James A Nelson Hall on Cara’s Woodville campus, Space Encounters tells the tale of astronauts Harris and Jefferson, and their robot Roland, who venture into space to find the source of a strange signal. They arrive on a distant planet and stumble across something they did not expect. With Harris’ empathy and Jefferson's temper, who knows what will happen next? And when Roland malfunctions, will Harris and Jefferson ever get back home?
The performance is part of the Cabaret Fringe Festival, with sessions being held on Sunday the 16th June at 11am and Saturday the 22nd of June at 2:00pm. Click here to purchase tickets which cost $18 each for adults, $15 each for concession and Fringe Benefits members, $10 each for children, and $45 for two adults and two children.
There will be an opportunity to meet and greet with the cast and to purchase photographs at the end of the performance, and children are encouraged to dress up in a space or robot theme!
